This is really good information but I have never booked through these other airlines. I have a ton of points in Chase and American Express and also have points in United, Delta, and AA programs. I have no idea where to even start.

In reply to Rodney Equi. Agree completely. Singapore airlines redirects to Scootair for booking to Hawaii. You can't even find Hawaiian airports in their booking engine unless you pick "redeem"...and then you get an error asking you to contact your local Singapore air office. I assume this is because I currently have no KrisAir miles in my account yet.

I always read these with interest. Here’s my problem…shared with many I assume. I have a boatload of Ultimate Rewards I use for Hyatt and United. But whenever I try to explore possibilities on one of these other airlines I can’t determine availability for business or award travel unless I have the miles with their program. Who will transfer 200,000 points to Iberia or TAP or even BA on the chance I can book a flight on the days I want to the place I want? Am I missing something? If so, please help me out…
